Main Image

Recently we are seeing an increase in passengers arriving at the border without a QR code for entry to Tasmania.

A quick courtesy reminder to those that may be travelling or involved in the movement of travellers into Tasmania that:

  • All travellers to Tasmania, including returning residents, need to provide contact and travel details before entering the state, to help manage the risk of COVID-19 at our borders.
  • These border entry conditions depend on where travellers have been before their arrival, with areas assessed as either low, medium or high-risk based on Public Health advice.
  • All low-risk travellers can register through the Tas e-Travel system, no more than three days before arriving in Tasmania (if they are determined to be medium or high risk the Tas e-Travel system will automatically direct them to the G2G portal)
  • Medium or high risk travellers must register through the G2G portal https://g2gpass.com.au/
  • The Tas e-Travel system is a simple process where people enter some brief details and answer some questions before receiving a Tas e-Travel QR code which is scanned as they enter Tasmania.
  • More information is available at Coming to Tasmania | Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

Travellers that arrive with no knowledge of border entry conditions and without a QR code do take additional time to process at the border, your ongoing support to assist Biosecurity Tasmania border staff with providing efficient processing with minimal delays for travellers arriving into Tasmania is appreciated.
